Button beats personal best record at the London marathon

At the London Marathon today, McLaren driver Jenson Button has smashed his personal best time with a 2.52.30.

Button ran the London Marathon today to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and was looking at beat his best time of 2 hours and 58 minutes. As we know, he is a keen marathon and triathlon runner but he hadn’t ran in the London Marathon until today.

Setting a time under three hours at the event is considered to be an elite time and he finished 900th out of 37,800 runners. During the race, Button was competing with former Olympic rowing champion James Cracknell who finished ahead of him.

Button’s wife Jessica also competed in the marathon today as well as Manor F1 boss Graeme Lowdon. At this time, neither had crossed the finishing line as of yet.

Congratulations to Jenson for his performance today in the London Marathon. It is a fantastic achievement and he should be proud of the time he set.
