Ir was announced yesterday afternoon that the Scuderia Ferrari team is to hand a Formula 1 debut to another of its young drivers Antonio Fuoco in next week’s second and final in-season test after the Austrian Grand Prix.
The 19-year-old Ferrari Academy driver, who won the 2013 Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS series, is currently competing in GP3 with Carlin.
Yesterday in a statement issued by the team confirmed Fuoco’s F1 debut after the Austrian GP and believe as follows:-
‘This is a significant opportunity for him; as part of the programme which the Scuderia runs to help the development of young drivers.’
Fuoco will take the wheel of the SF15-T on Tuesday at the Red Bull Ring, with third driver Esteban Gutierrez following suit on Wednesday. While former Sauber driver Esteban Gutierrez made his bow with Ferrari in last month’s test following the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona.
