Earlier this week, tyre manufacturer Pirelli has confirmed their tyre combinations for the next three grands prix with the Russian selections softer following complaints last year.

Pirelli made the mediums and softs available for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix last year due to fears of high tyre degradation; but Nico Rosberg nearly managed to complete the entire race on the primes after he was forced to make an early stop.

They have gone aggressive for this year’s race at the Sochi Autodrom, saying in a statement to the media that “the asphalt has not changed significantly since its debut last year, and looking at the data from 2014, a softer step is possible”.

It’s back-to-back races up next for Formula 1 in the next few weeks and at the Singapore and Japanese Grands Prix will once again have the same combinations as last year with the super-softs and softs to be used at the Marina Bay Street Circuit while the hard and medium tyres will be available at Suzuka.
