It was announced today that Pirelli has announced its tyre compound choices for July’s British Grand Prix, with the hard tyre making its second appearance of the campaign.
On a race weekend where Pirelli have opted for the hardest tyres in its range, the orange-marked hards, white-marked mediums and yellow-marked softs will all be in use.
Under the new 2016 regulations, the drivers have to all have one set of a hard and medium tyres available and have to use at least one of them.
As for qualifying, each driver must save for Q3 one set of the softest of the three nominated compounds.
This set will be given back to Pirelli after Q3 for those who qualify in the top 10, but the remaining drivers will keep it for the race.
The drivers are free to choose the remaining 10 sets; making up 13 sets in total for the weekend.
