Formula One’s official tyre supplier Pirelli announced yesterday that they will bring the supersoft tyre to the Italian Grand Prix for the first time in September.
Pirelli will bring the supersoft, soft and medium to the Italian Grand Prix which is held at the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
The Italian GP will be the fourth consecutive race the supersoft, soft and medium compound will be used in Hungary, Germany and Belgium.
Last season Pirelli opted for the soft and medium compound. Like for all of the races in 2016, Pirelli have gone a step softer in each of their tyre selections.
All drivers will be required to use a set of the soft or medium tyres during the race whilst all drivers who progress into the final part of qualifying will be given an extra set of supersoft tyres.
The individual choices by each driver will be released at a later date.
The Italian Grand Prix hosts the 14th round of the 2016 Formula One season and will take place on September 4.
